Equilibrium & The Fountain

I recommend you two of the most underrated movies of all time: Equilibrium and The Fountain!

In a futuristic world, a strict regime has eliminated war by suppressing emotions: books, art and music are strictly forbidden and feeling is a crime punishable by death. Cleric John Preston (Bale) is a top ranking government agent responsible for destroying those who resist the rules. Everything changes when Preston misses a dose of Prozium (a mind-altering drug that hinders emotion).

The Fountain:
A very spiritual and touching movie about life, death and rebirth.
The movie is tackling three different time periods: past (16th century), present, and future.
The past story of Queen Isabel sending her best man out to find the Tree of Life in order to gain immortality and save Spain. The present story of a medical researcher that doesn’t understand death and is desperately searching for a cure that will save his dying wife. The future story is when Tom has fought for many years in seeking his wife and a way past death and has through deep meditation and focus traveled with the tree of life to the land of the dead where he hopes to be reunited with his wife and perhaps have her partake of the Tree of Life with him so that they may both live together for eternity.
