If you are a diabetes patient, you are Big Pharma’s best friend. You have been ear-marked for the rest of your life as a cash cow for the companies who make diabetes medicines, syringes, blood sugar monitors, insulin, cotton swabs, and more.
But there is a little secret that the pharmaceutical companies don’t want you to know.
You don’t need to be one of the 15 million people in the US with this disease.
Up to 90% of all diabetes type 2 (also called adult onset or non-insulin dependent diabetes) is caused by poor diet, lack of physical fitness, and lifestyle choices.
You can “cure” yourself!
So, instead of spending your best years paying the pharmaceutical companies instead of for your dream vacation or a new car, or being put on ‘pre-diabetic’ drugs by your doctor before you ever attempt to lose a few pounds and change your eating habits to healthier ones, you can forge a new path to be diabetes-free.
Don’t allow Big Pharma to use you to inflate their stock holdings. In a popular pharmacy magazine, there was recently a slick, full-color, 4-page advertisement that said “The Diabetes Consumer: Shops More. Spends More. Shops the Whole Store.” Its disgusting the lengths these companies will go to in order to keep their profits high while caring so little about your health.
Tips for Eliminating Type 2 Diabetes
1. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day, six days a week. Give yourself one ‘cheat’ or ‘rest’ day, but get moving. It doesn’t matter if you walk, run, bike, swim, hike, play tennis, do karate, start a yoga or tai chi class, or any other form of exercise. 30 minutes a day will start to change your body’s chemistry and help regulate pancreatic reactions.
2. You probably have a sugar addiction. Eat healthy proteins in the morning to help keep you satiated longer and small meals throughout the day to keep you from grabbing cake, cookies, and doughnuts when your sugar levels get low. This is another important step in regulating glucose levels and helps even non-diabetic people.
3. Drink more water. It fills you up, helps the body with all its metabolic processes and can make your skin glow with health and vigor.
4. Stop smoking and drinking alcohol. These two habits can lead to diabetes type 2 all on their own. (See our effects of smoking article for more information on smoking).
Additionally, try utilizing cinnamon for diabetes – it is becoming known as a ‘miracle’ solution, of sorts.
And for those of you suffering from Type 1 diabetes, there is hope for you yet. Some research has found that flax seed has a wide range of benefits in animals with type 1 diabetes. Among those benefits were an improved utilization of glucose in the liver, normalized glucose forming activity in the liver and muscle tissues, and “reduced pancreatic and intestinal glucosidase inhibitory activity, which translates into lower post-meal blood sugar elevations.”
