Is Chlorella the No.1 Super-food in the World?

There are many varieties of foods in the world. Some are sweet, some are salty, some are eaten raw and some require cooking but all of them have nutrients that benefit us in different ways. However, there are foods that differ from normal foods. Their benefits are so amazing they need to be called super-foods.

Spirulina, Goji Seeds, Blueberries, Seaweed, Avocados, Noni, Raw Cacao, Chlorella… these are all members of the super-food team, but what is the strongest of them all? Some say it’s the super-food Chlorella. Let’s see if that’s really true.

What is Chlorella?

Chlorella is a genus of single-cell green algae, belonging to the phylum Chlorophyta. It is spherical in shape, about 2 to 10 μm in diameter, offering many benefits and famous for its detoxification abilities. The super-power to bind with heavy metals was first discovered in the mining industry. Mixed with water, they pumped chlorella into mine shafts to collect the residual metals after bulk mining was completed.

It is one of the most widely researched supplements in the entire world. Because of its great amount of protein, this super-food is researched by many countries like Japan, France, England, USA, Russia, Germany and Israel.

Even NASA has studied using chlorella as the one of first whole foods in space on the international space station!

What these researches discovered was that Chlorella has an amazing power of helping our bodies to heal and be protected of almost any kind of sickness because of its incredible amount of healthy nutrients.

Chlorella’s Nutrients

Chlorella is full with Vitamins like A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E and these vitamins are provided by a whole food bundle which makes their formula superior to any manufactured formula.

However, many experts are saying that the Vitamin B12 in Chlorella is not highly bioavailable. This means that our bodies may not be able to absorb this vitamin from Chlorella so other sources must be included in the diet.

Being rich in magnesium Chlorella improves blood sugar levels, hearth and mental health and relaxes our bodies. It contains other important minerals like iron, calcium and potassium. Because it contains high levels of Iron it is smart to not abuse it.

Because Chlorella contains a great amount of chlorophyll it is green in color. Also it can improve alkalinity, inflammation, immunity and fix your problems with bad breath.

It is highly rich in Protein with a balance of very important Amino Acids, the essential ones that our bodies cannot manufacture. These Amino Acids are responsible for rebuilding the body’s lean tissues and neurotransmitters, and contribute greatly to many functions in the body.

A nourished, healthy body is full of energy and vitality. Many people who consumed Chlorella report elevated mood and improved energy.

[My favorite organic Chlorella powder, is made by Rainforest Foods. For every pack sold, Rainforest Foods will fund the purchase of one square meter of cloud forest in Ecuador. They conserve threatened forests, protecting endangered habitats, wildlife and indigenous people. Plus, it’s organic & non GMO.]

The Benefits of Chlorella in the World Today

In the world today it is pretty hard to live a healthy lifestyle as we are all poisoned by the polluted air, the processed foods, the countless pesticides, by the water we drink and shower with, the beauty products we use. Whatever we do it seems that no one can run away from these unhealthy chemicals.

So, how can we live healthy?

Instead of running away we can learn to live with them by filtering them out of our system on a regular basis. Here Chlorella can be of a great help as it has incredible detoxifying abilities.

What do the Japanese Know?

In Japan over 10 million people use this super-food daily. The Japanese usage of Chlorella is higher than The North American usage of Vitamin C which is their most used supplement. What do the Japanese know?

Chlorella is a “green food,” a single-celled, micro-algae that is about two to ten microns in size. It’s very small. It is this small size combined with its unique properties that make it such a useful detoxification tool. Its molecular structure, allows it to bond to metals, chemicals and some pesticides.

When we use Chlorella its mission is to bind with lingering heavy metals, pesticides and unhealthy chemicals in our digestive tract. This is the pathway to our bloodstream which is where these unhealthy chemicals are transported to our body’s cells.

Helping your body to remove unwanted chemicals is not Chlorella’s only mission. It is designed in a way not to bind with minerals that your body needs to function properly like zinc, calcium and magnesium. It is almost like you send an army of mini Super-heroes to remove the toxins and in the same time to protect the metals that need to stay in your body.

The Downside

The downside of using Chlorella is that it needs to be processed by a manufacturer to break down the outer cells so it will be biologically available to remove toxins and our bodies can absorb its nutrients.

This is because Chlorella has incredibly tough outer cell walls that are responsible for its detoxifying abilities and our bodies cannot break them biologically. We do not have the enzymes to break down its cell walls.

If you use Chlorella make sure that you use one from a clear area. Make sure that it is distributed by a land with clear waters free of contamination because it is natural green food and it will retain the environmental toxins. Be sure that the source of the Chlorella you buy comes from a clean and natural source of fresh waters.

Possible Side-effects

Possible side effects of Chlorella include green discoloration of the stools, stomach cramps especially the first week, nausea, gas and diarrhea.

Chlorella may cause allergic reactions especially for people allergic to Iodine as it has a large amount of it. The skin may become extra sensitive to the sun so avoid long exposure while you consume it.

People with autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or other similar conditions may want to avoid Chlorella because it causes the immune system to become more active with that increasing the symptoms of the autoimmune diseases.

Chlorella and the other super-foods in the world, they are all winners and it is up to us to discover what our body needs and how to create a healthy lifestyle that will benefit us most.
