3 Reasons to Filter Fluoride Out of Your Drinking Water

Fluoride has been added to  drinking water supplies all over the world for decades, but that’s all changing as several countries and communities around the world have completely removed and banned the practice of water fluoridation.

It’s quite remarkable how much we can find out when we begin to question the world around us, take a break from our own lives and look at the bigger picture. Fluoride is a great example (out of many) of how the consciousness of the planet is shifting.

There is always a sharp resistance to new information that renders the old information obsolete. In today’s world it’s important to have an open mind and accept as well as entertain facts that sharply disagree with your current belief systems.

1. The Fluoride Used in Drinking Water is Hydrofluorosilicic Acid

The substance added to our drinking water is  hydrofluorosilicic acid, a toxic industrial waste by-product that governments have been adding to our drinking water for over sixty years. This toxic waste substance is created from the production processes of aluminum, fertilizer, steel and nuclear industries.

For example, in the Phosphate Mining & Production Industry, much of the hydrofluorosilicic acid occurs from strip-mined rock. The rock is broken up, placed in giant vats where sulfuric acid is also added to get rid of whatever phosphate (and other contaminants) are in the rock.

While the phosphate is extracted, the contaminants used to be released into the atmosphere. This was creating more pollution, and killing animal and plant life.

Again, just to reiterate, the stuff added to our drinking water is industrial toxic waste.

The aluminum, fertilizer, steel and nuclear industries all have environmental regulations they must follow. These regulations were put in place where pollution control devices were set up in order to capture the contaminants, like arsenic, lead, mercury, silicofluoride and more.

Included in the pollution control device is hydrofluorosilicic acid (added to our drinking water), so toxic that one needs to wear a full body suit and mask to be around it. These contaminants are then taken out of the chimneys (scrubbed off with the acid) and stored in “open-air cooling lakes,” which are further exposed to airborne contaminants.

“If this stuff gets out into the air, it’s a pollutant; if it gets into the river, it’s a pollutant; if it gets into the lake, it’s a pollutant; but if it goes right straight into your drinking water system, it’s not a pollutant. That’s amazing.” (source)(source)  – Former VP and Senior Chemist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency  Headquarters

Below is a great video from Abby Martin of RT news. I’ve used it in multiple fluoride articles but we always have new readers, and this information can’t be repeated enough.

2. The Best Known Peer Reviewed Medical Journal Has Officially (recently) Classified Fluoride as a Neurotoxin

A ground breaking publication in one of the top main-stream medical journals has now added six additional substances into its classification of neurotoxicants, and one of them is fluoride.(source)

The publications abstract reads as follows:

“Neurodevelopmental disabilities, including autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia and other cognitive impairments, affect millions of children worldwide, and some diagnoses seem to be increasing in frequency. Industrial chemicals that injure the developing brain are among the known causes for this rise in prevalence.

“In 2006, we did a systematic review and identified five industrial chemicals as developmental neurotoxicants: lead, methyl mercury (common in jjabs), polychlorinated biphenyls, arsenic and toluene.

“Since 2006, epidemiological studies have documented six additional developmental neurotoxicants – manganese, fluoride, chlorpyrifos, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, tetrachloroethylene, and the polybrominated dihenyl ethers.

“We postulate that even more neurotoxicants remain undiscovered. To control the pandemic of developmental neurotoxicity, we propose a global prevention strategy.

“Untested chemicals should not be presumed to be safe to brain development, and chemicals in existing use and all new chemicals must therefore be tested for developmental neurotoxicity. To coordinate these efforts and to accelerate translation of science into prevention, we propose the urgent formation of a new international clearinghouse.”

Dr. Dean Burk was an American biochemist, who co-discovered biotin, a chemical necessary for cell growth, the production of fatty acids and the metabolism of fats and amino acids. He was the head chief chemist at the National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institute of health under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

He was chief of cytochemistry at the institute’s laboratory. He received the Hilderbrand Prize in 1952 for his work on photosynthesis, and the Gerhard Domagk Prize in 1965 for his development of procedures for distinguishing the difference between a normal cell and one damaged by cancer.

He was the co-developer of the prototype of the nuclear magnetic resonance scanner. He was born in Oakland, California in 1902 and died 1988.

His paper, “The Determination of Enzyme Dissociation Constants,” (source) published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society in 1934 is one of the most frequently cited papers in the history of biochemistry.

Here’s what he had to say about water fluoridation decades ago:

“In point of fact, fluoride causes more human cancer deaths than any other chemical. When you have power you don’t have to tell the truth. That’s a rule that’s been working in this world for generations.

“And there are a great many people who don’t tell the truth when they are in power in administrative positions. Fluoride amounts to public murder on a grand scale. It is some of the most conclusive scientific and biological evidence that I have come across in my 50 years in the field of cancer research.” (source)

3. Fluoride is Banned All Across the Globe

Despite being dubbed “one of the top ten public health achievements of the twentieth century,” and praised by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, it’s clear that we’ve been subject to manipulation of truth yet again.

The United States has more people drinking fluoridated water than the rest of the world combined. Most industrialized nations do not fluoridate their water.

Examples in Europe include Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, 90 percent of the UK, Spain, Scotland, Norway, Switzerland and many more. It’s become more obvious everyday that industrial byproducts do not belong in our water. 97 % of Western Europe doesn’t fluoridate their water. (source) (source) (source)

Japan doesn’t add any fluoride to their drinking water, many communities in Australia don’t either. I grew up in a town called Kitchener Waterloo, they recently just stopped putting fluoride in their water after putting the decision to vote. Windsor, Canada recently stopped the practice after decades of doing so as well.

The list goes on and on, and the trend continues to expand across the globe exponentially.

It’s Already in Your Toothpaste (among other things)

Even though more people are choosing to brush their teeth with fluoride-free toothpaste, it’s still available in many toothpastes. Do we really need more of it added to our drinking water, especially when we examine the information above?

As a matter of fact, fluoride is already naturally occurring in water, but at an extremely low rate. This is naturally occurring and is not an industrial toxic waste substance.  So ask yourself, is the practice of water fluoridation really necessary?

How to Filter the Fluoride Out of Your Water

The answer is simple, get a water filter. You can get a “reverse osmosis” system that does this. Berkey Water  filtration systems seem to be quite popular. There are a number of different systems out here, that purify water at multiple levels.

Bottom line, there are a plethora of options. One thing is for certain, in this day and age you shouldn’t be drinking tap water, especially if the town or city you live in still fluoridates their water.

Water filtration processes, like reverse osmosis often filter out the minerals of the water, if you are worried about that, filtration systems that re mineralize the water are also available.
