Let’s say you’ve found a new sense of awareness or elevated consciousness — suddenly you feel connected to the beauty of the world, you understand yourself better, and you’re filled with a drive to become better, to nurture yourself and the world around you.

What is balance if I’m not doing Yoga?
Now, what do I mean by balance?
Balance comes from more than just nailing a pose during a weekly yoga session. Balance is something that can be achieved through your way of life.
I’m sure you’ve heard this concept before or at least some quoted version of it by the wise philosophers of the past, but let’s break it down into what it means for us now.
Can there be darkness without light? Does one not exist only because of the other? Imagine the world was perfect (difficult, I know).
Imagine there’s no inequality or injustice, no unhappiness, just complete bliss, and maybe even unicorns.
The simple fact that we have ability to dream up this kind of world is only possible because of the chaotic world we live in now.
Our awareness of our problems means we can also create solutions for them. These come in the form of amazing inventions, transcendent art, evolving culture, and even these moments of enlightenment.
I’m not sure about you, but I for one wouldn’t want to live in a world where I couldn’t experience those ah-ha moments where we really get to turn the bad times around.
Through the darkness, we can reach the light. It’s in this dysfunctional system where we can find our own little peace and happiness.
Your job? Work where you find opportunity and create something you can be proud of that might help balance out our suffering world. All the opportunity is there for YOU to tip the scales in a positive direction.

- Do you spend more than 18 hours a week feeling satisfied?
- Do you want to share what you do with everyone you care about?
- Do you feel inspired and able to improve yourself in some small way every day?
- Do you feel you could always be improving at what you work most on?
- Is the reward of doing what you do better than the money you receive?
And if you haven’t then here are the facts: you’re one person, you have one personality (presumably), and you’re interested in things that not everyone on the earth is interested in — you’re unique. So it makes sense that the world’s happiness doesn’t fall completely on your shoulders.
In order to maintain your sanity, you need to not only understand your potential, but also recognize that you are not responsible for fixing the entire world.
Once you are aware of the realities of the world you will make changes to accommodate this new sense of being.
Even if you don’t realize it or if it’s very small, it’s an action, behavior, energy, and effort to creating peace and a sense of happiness. And if everyone on the earth begins to embrace these small changes then the world will slowly improve. It’s already happening.
