It is commonly known that physicians are often arrogant and have a big ego due to all the training they go through and all the knowledge they acquire and they never admit that they are wrong.
However, this renown heart surgeon with 25 years of experience decided to admit that he has been wrong and he has medical and scientific facts to prove that.
He explains that he, along with some other prominent physicians labelled “opinion makers” have attended numerous education seminars and read a lot of scientific literature which is why they insisted on the fact that heart disease is a result from elevated blood cholesterol.
For this reason, they only prescribed medications for lowering cholesterol and a diet that severely restricts fat intake.
A recent discovery that the real cause of heart disease is the inflammation in the artery wall and not high cholesterol levels and fat is leading to a paradigm shift in how heart disease and other chronic ailments will be treated.
Epidemics of weight problems and diabetes have been created by the long-established dietary suggestions, the repercussions of which dwarf any historical afflict in terms of death, human suffering and dire financial effects.
Even with the fact that 25% of the people in the U.S use statin medications that are expensive and they also reduced the fat content of their diets, even more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before.
According to the statistics of the American Heart Association, 75 million Americans currently suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 57 million have pre-diabetes. The worst part is that these serious health conditions are affecting younger and younger people in greater numbers each year.
The main point here is that without inflammation in the body, the cholesterol won’t accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and stroke. The inflammation is actually trapping the cholesterol in the body, it prevents it to move freely throughout the body and it results in a heart disease.
You should be aware of the fact that inflammation is actually a body’s natural defence to a foreign invaders such as viruses, toxins and bacteria.
The cycle of inflammation is perfect in how it protects your body from these bacterial and viral invaders.
On the other hand, if we constantly expose our body to foods that are unhealthy and to injury by toxins, it results in condition called chronic inflammation.
For instance, smokers constantly expose their body to toxins, but they do it willfully.
On the other hand, some people follow recommended mainstream diet that is low in fat and high in polyunsaturated fats and carbohydrates, and as a result of this poor diet, they cause repeated injury to their blood vessels.
This is what causes chronic inflammation in our body which lead to obesity, diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
The biggest culprits of chronic inflammation are: the excess consumption of omega-6 vegetable oils like soybean, corn and sunflower that are found in many processed foods and highly processed carbohydrates (sugar, flour and all the products made from them).
According to the doctor, diseased arteries look as if someone has scrubbed them repeatedly with a brush.
The foods we consume several times a day create small injuries that lead into more injuries and a as a result they cause the body to respond continuously and appropriately with inflammation.
The main diet of the Americans is consisted of all those foods loaded with sugars and simple carbohydrates, or processed with omega-6 oils for long shelf life, and they have been slowly poisoning everyone.
Blood sugar rises rapidly when we consume simple carbohydrates such as sugar and as a result, your pancreas secretes the insulin whose main role is to drive sugar into each cell where it is stored for energy.
However, once the cell is full and it doesn’t need glucose, it rejects the sugar in order to avoid extra sugar gumming up the work. When your full cells reject the extra glucose, blood sugar rises producing more insulin and the glucose converts to stored fat.
People should be really careful of what they consume since blood sugar is controlled in a very narrow range. Because of this, extra sugar molecules attach to a variety of proteins which in turn cause damage to the blood vessel wall.
Persistent injury to the blood vessel wall triggers inflammation. In other words, when you spike your blood sugar level a few times per day, on a daily basis, it is exactly like taking sandpaper to the inside of your delicate blood vessels.
The doctor says:
“While you may not be able to see it, rest assured it is there. I saw it in over 5,000 surgical patients spanning 25 years who all shared one common denominator — inflammation in their arteries.”
People should definitely avoid consuming sweet roll since not only contains sugars, but it is also baked in one of many omega-6 oils like soybean.
Moreover, fries and chips are also soaked in soybean oil, and this oil is used in processed foods in order to prolong their shelf life.
Omega-6 must be in balance with omega-3s. Excess consumption of omega-6 shifts the balance and the cell membrane produces chemicals called cytokines that directly cause inflammation.
Nowadays, the American diet produces an extreme imbalance of these two fats which is why inflammation occurs.
It is even worse when people consume these foods on a daily basis because overloaded fat cells get created which pour out large quantities of pro-inflammatory chemicals that add to the injury caused by having high blood sugar.
As a result, after some period of time, this leads to diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and even Alzheimer’s disease, since the inflammatory process continues unabated.
It is a well know fact that the more we consume unhealthy and processed foods, the more inflammation occurs and damages our organs. Our body is not designed to process foods packed with sugars and soaked in omega-6 oils.
In order to prevent inflammation and further complications, we need to return to foods closer to their natural state. If you want to build more muscle, you should consume more protein. When it comes to carbohydrates, you should consume more fruits and vegetables.
On the other hand, you must cut down or even eliminate inflammation-causing omega 6-fats such as soybean oil and processed foods that are made from them and corn. You can substitute these ingredients with olive oil or butter from grass-fed beef.
Moreover, you should also substitute oils labelled polyunsaturated with animal fats since they contain less than 20% onega-6.
Mainstream medicine made a terrible mistake when it advised people to avoid saturated fat in favor of foods high in omega-6 fats.
This is the main reason why now we have an epidemic of arterial inflammation which leads not only to heart disease, but to many other silent killers as well.
Protect yourself and your family by consuming whole foods your grandmother served. If you eliminate inflammatory foods and add essential nutrients from fresh unprocessed food, you will reverse years of damage in your arteries.
