Google’s Blogger Just Deleted ‘Humans Are Free’ From Their Platform

A few hours ago, Google’s blogging platform called “Blogger” has forever deleted my website from their platform, without any warning and without offering a reason.

The website was down for a few hours, so many of you have surely noticed it. The message that me, and everyone else received upon visiting my website, was very generic:

“Sorry, the blog at HumansAreFree.com has been removed. This address is not available for new blogs.”

No explanation, and no way of downloading the content. Luckily, I’ve had a backup from last month, so I didn’t lose too much content.

What I lost: some content and the share count history (up to 800,000+ Facebook shares for some articles). I hope that’s about it.

Emotionally, it was quite a shock, especially after Facebook has deleted my personal account and my page, very recently. They are clearly targeting me (as well as ALL dissenting voices), and clearly doing their best to control your access to information. This is censorship and an attack on freedom and the First Amendment. Does it come as a surprise? No, at this point, especially since Google made it clear in a court statement that they do not want to be held to the standard of the First Amendment.

According to a leaked internal briefing by tech giant Google named “The Good Censor,” the search engine and other platforms they want to abandon their commitment to the “American tradition” of Free Speech.

What we gained: a better platform, HTTPS (secure connection), a better-looking website, and “dark mode” (which you can activate from the upper right corner, both on mobile and desktop).

What can we do about it?

The only way to take power away from Google, is to stop using its products and services. Use the Vivaldi browser to access the internet and use DuckDuckGo.com to search for stuff.

I am also on MeWe, which is the best alternative to Facebook that I have found so far. We are a growing community and I really like it!

If they don’t want us, then we don’t want them either!

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for still being around after almost 10 years! It means a lot to me. ♥
